Prior to working in schools, Sue Gail researched and wrote foreign policy reports for Congress through the Congressional Research Service at the Library of Congress. While at Vanderbilt, Sue Gail briefly sang backup for Johnny Cash.

She teaches deep reading, literary analysis, and the basics of writing successful literary essays with a clear thesis statement, strong claims, and carefully selected quotes that support the thesis. For History classes, Sue Gail guides students in finding and assessing valid research sources and in techniques for using school databases as well as how to organize notes into a cohesive paper with proper citations. She supports students in AP Language, AP Literature, AP World History, and AP Government classes. Sue Gail also works with college students wanting writing support, as well as students preparing college and graduate school admission essays.
