Experience: Zach has more than ten years of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages from elementary-aged to adult, with seven of those years as an MLS Group Leader. Since 2011, Zach has tutored privately in math, ESL, reading and writing up to and including the graduate level. In 2013, Zach designed and taught a beginner’s Italian language course at the Baltimore Free School, a community-funded education project. Outside of teaching, Zach worked as a medical interpreter and travel agent before joining the MLS team in 2015.
Education: Zach graduated from Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, Maryland in 2011 as an AP Scholar with Honors. Zach then studied Italian through immersion at the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy in Bristol, RI and became certified as an Italian language medical interpreter. In 2012, Zach completed two internships in Worcester, MA; one as a student teacher specializing in math, reading, and foreign language instruction at an inner-city elementary school and the other as a coordinator for a youth soccer league dedicated to cultural exchange and community development.
Specialties: Zach works with students of all ages focusing on math, science, and writing. He integrates executive functioning and study skills into all academic lessons. Zach is an expert in delivering upper-level math and science concepts in a clear and efficient manner. By tailoring explanations to each learning style, Zach guides his students to complete mastery of topics and helps them build a foundation for their long-term success.
